Vintage Tea with Miss Bee!

Yesterday evening, the beautiful Miss Bee and I attended Dr. Anne Bissonnette's lecture on the history of Tea Gowns hosted by Rutherford House.  What a treat!  Here's a little recap of the evening, in instagram photos (well, I took my outfit photo in advance, but the rest were instagrammed). Attendees were encouraged to dress up...there was a wee contest for best dressed and my 1930s ensemble won (I thought B. should have at least shared in that title, but what an honour, as the other guests looked great!!!).

1930s hat (in my shop)
1930s dress: Wildfell Hall
1930s and carved bangles: my own collection

Rutherford Photo Shoot, Part Two

Here are the key images from my vintage photo-shoot for my shop, set at Rutherford House. Items shown are either listed or coming soon!

Rutherford House Photo Shoot

Although plans to work with a local student seeking to compose a Look Book for items in my Etsy shop fell through last minute, yesterday, I did the photography and vintage styling for what turned out to be pretty darn amazing photo-shoot at the wonderful Rutherford House.  Laurie of Retro Reporter bravely stepped in, not only to assist with wardrobe/outfit styling, but also to oversee the make-up and hairstyling, to chauffeur us to the shoot site, and generally to help oversee that everything behind the scenes was running smoothly all day.  My beautiful friends, Charly, Nicole, and Chantel, served as my incredible models and each also contributed their vintage hair & makeup skills to help us produce the series of images I captured!  I will reveal more of the photos from the shoot in the next post (though some are already up in my etsy listings).  Today, I wanted to give you a sample of a couple of the images we did of the amazing Edwardian gown in my shop, as a kind of wistful marker of the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

Tea with the Vintage Baroness, Birthday Edition, Part One

What a glorious day at Rutherford House with my wonderful vintage-loving friends, including Miss Bee Vintage, Erin of My Twelve Cents' Worth, and Laurie, Retro Reporter (big hugs to my non-blogging mum and my friends Charly and Nicole, too)! Here's a peek at my very special high tea birthday!!
