Ok, first of all, I love the dress, the apron, and the hair. Second, how did she get that turkey to sit still? Third, she's looking almost *lovingly* at that turkey....does she remember that it's going to end up on her dining room table? LOL
Seeing that turkey instantly reminds me of visiting my Aunt's farm. She had the meanest GIANT turkey that used to chase us- gobbling all the way. We'd hide up in a tree to escape and it would pace below us waiting for us to come down! Imagine my childhood vindication when she had us over for Thanksgiving- to eat Thom the Turkey!
It is definitely an image with impact, isn't it? I too wondered how she got such a big Tom to sit on her lap. eileensbasement, my mother tells a similar tale of the big bad turkey that would peck at her when she visited her farm-dwelling relatives. She also got chased down and cornered by a HEADLESS turkey that got away from her uncle post-guillotine. YIKES!!
