30s Fashion Show

The dress and suit from the last post look like they fell out of a 30s fashion show not unlike the one in this lovely video (though the vid. shows spring and summer)! PS: I first saw this on Porcelina's lovely blog.

Thank you so much for your quick and kind reply.
The discoloring in question is the following:

Ah, yes, the areas which are discolored indicate the slight acidity left from untreated perspiration staining may have led to areas which are lighter than the rest of the dress. I would love to hear from my seasoned experts here, but here are my own thoughts: On some fabrics where it hasn't completely infiltrated the fabric, some perspiration staining can sometimes be soaked out, but what I think you are looking at here with a wool rayon blend is permanent lightening of the fabric, so it is not so much a stain to be removed but the effects of a sort of chemical reaction that cannot be reversed per se. You could perhaps consider having a professional look at it (drycleaner) or you could look into the possibility of trying to dye the whole dress another color with an appropriate fabric dye (not something I've ever done) OR if you are a talented seamstress, you could explore ways of replacing the discolored areas (if they are very conspicuous when the dress is worn). Otherwise, you may have to think of creative ways to wear the dress with separates that cover the areas (though often isolated and mild discoloration under the arms is not glaringly visible when a dress is worn, especially in an evening setting ;))

for the lighter areas on the collars, why not add a cute collar or retrim the collar with some fabulous fabric? Just an idea!
