Halo Braid Envy

Okay, I'll admit; that headpiece I'm wearing in the previous post image is the result of the fact that I've been dying to find a way to try out the 30s hairstyle which I've dubbed the "halo braid."  Clearly, because shorter hair was de rigeur, the "halo braid" style obviously required the aid of a hair piece.  I'm not big on the idea of pinning a hair braid (real or synthetic) atop my crown to get this look, so the braided headpiece seems like a fun alternative.  Still, Ginger Roger makes this style look like "HEAVEN, " though in this clip, I think her "braid" is actually more rolled.  In either case, there's no question that this was an extremely ubiquitous hairdo in the 1930s! Okay, I'm off to pout and to rethink my evening now that it seems we won't be roasting marshmallows over a campfire until tomorrow night (fingers crossed the whole weekend isn't a wash out!).

Love what you call halo braid hairsytle. About two years ago I looked into making a hair attachment, but never got around to making it. Maybe the fact that it's wasn't my real hair just made me lose interest. Now that I have long hair I should give it a try. It is a wonderful hairdo. I LOVE IT!
I think you would look gorgeous even if you wear a headpiece. I'm sure you will look gorgeous. I know...

So sorry your campfire plans for tonight are postponed. Nice of you to concoct another little post for us, though.

I love "Dancing to Cheek to Cheek" - but never really noticed Ginger Rogers hair until you called attention to it. Very lovely! So Ginger is wearing a hair piece? Then I think you should try it too! (Yeah right, easy for me to say. :-)

I love this hairstyle, have been envying it in films for a while, but my hair's too short too! Hope you find a good hairpiece!

Sorry about your trip! I love that hairdo! I've seen it referred to as the "Heidi braid" today but have not been able to find a good, thick, fake braid. If you find a source I'd love to get one!
