Sew What?

In an effort to take my mind off the crummy weather, as well as the fact that my mom is having cataract surgery today (which is outpatient and should really hopefully be over with quickly, but she's on my mind), I've been surfing vintage pattern and fabric sites like a fiend.  You can guess where this is going:  I ended up hoarding more patterns and fabric. The fact I probably have more projects planned than time is irrelevant.  ;)  Actually, I haven't only been hoarding.  This week, I did manage to make a halter top using the pattern from Wearing History's late 30s halter and trouser set. I'll post pics of it shortly (my camera's battery is recharging). It is super cute, if I may say, and it was so easy to make that I think I'm probably going to dash off several more in a number of other colors and patterns.  More on the halter later. For now, a quick peek at a couple of projects I can't wait to tuck into.

Yes, I am obsessed with plaid, especially the plaid fabrics in the American Jane Happy Camper fabric series.  The dress (at left) which I plan to make with this fabric will hopefully become the more casual sister of my Miss Irene Henderson dress from Able Grable.

I'm thinking the dress at centre above will be a classy and cool summer frock.  Haven't secured the fabric for it yet.  Will likely go with white cotton linen or linen rayon blend, but I am also considering a patterned cotton, like above.

I have both of those fabrics! The first in blue and the second has a navy background instead of white. I think a light-weight linen would be perfect for the second dress.
