Ugo Mochi: Poet of Shadows

Recently, I had an up close and personal encounter with the most amazing 1930s enamel topped table I have ever seen. It had divine silhouette scenes done in black on a white background on it (see last image).  While inspecting this scene, the name MOCHI was spied.  After a bit of internet research, I discovered more of the works of this artist, whose full name was Ugo Mochi.  One writer called him the "poet of shadows."  I  have long been in love with 1930s framed silhouette art, and have a lovely pair of framed images displaying ladies with dogs, but Mochi's works are just so meticulous and down right amazing!!
