Spring Sourcing

The spring sourcing season has begun for me, which means you can expect a little truckload of fresh 'new' vintage in the shop soon.  This also means I am open to taking on some new local Edmonton-area or Albertan consignments, so if you have vintage from the 1920s-60s that you would like to make a bit of cash on or that you would like to swap for other vintage loveliness, feel free to get in touch!

A Real Ringer

Still swooning over the results of my recent collaboration with the immensely talented and dreamy Hello June Photography for Adeline's Attic Vintage.   Everyone involved just "got" what I was hoping for, stylistically. Look how perfectly model/makeup artist Aki, and photographer Safauna embodied the 30s aesthetic through hair, makeup, lighting, pose, overall composition?? Doesn't Aki look like the twin of the Rolf Armstrong image dug up by my friend, the Sydney Flapper?  While I'm on the subject of the make-up, a shout out to Besame Cosmetics. We used the brightening violet powder and Merlot lipstick from this brand for the look, and since I'm a loyal wearer of this brand, I was unsurprised that the results for the shoot were stunning. Swoon!

Stylin' Snaps

Hullo, dear bloggers! Hope you're all enjoying a lovely summer! I've been pretty darn busy with my shop, particularly with some great vintage fashion collaborations that have allowed me to learn while building my vintage fashion styling and photography skills.

  • Visit Hello June Photography's new blog for a peek at some of the styling work I did when she photographed some of Moon River's stock for our etsy listings.

The Moon River Mercantile Co. has been pretty lucky since opening, due to lots of social media exposure, too, for which we are really grateful! The latest:  some of our vintage purses appeared in the "Style Q & A Feature" (of the lovely Sarah of The Office of Sarah), in the latest issue of Avenue Magazine.
