--Miss Phryne Fisher
Yes, I am surely more than a bit late to the party, but better late than never in the case of the costumes I've been drooling over in The Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries series. I adore her style, not only because she seems to dote on cream and red cloches as much as I do.

There are many hard core vintage aficionados that turn their nose up at her character and wardrobe, because of the unrealistic, unkeeping with the period aspects of the first, and again the lack of authenticity of the second, whether we are talking real vintage or correctly reproduced and combined garments for the depicted era. Correct, indeed, is not the thing here. But it still works, I think. I for one would happily embrace many of the outfits she wears, if only given the chance...
Absolutely love this show - it's a bit of fun and all the clothes are divine.
I recently discovered this show, too, and love every single one of Phryne's outfits. I was happy to see Dot in something sparkly finally, too, in Murder a La Mode.
Love this show! The thing here is that her wardrobe functions more as an aspect of character building, in my opinion, than an attempt to create authenticity which I'm ok with in this instance. Her wardrobe really is fabulous!! (I may have to re-watch them...again).
Evie, I agree 100%. I am in need of something lighter visually and thematically these days, so Miss Phryne is *in* in my books. Sometimes I am a purist. In this case, I think Miss Fisher's style matches my personal vintage aesthetic these days to a t-(strap)
Oh my, something else to watch and enjoy. Thanks for the head's up! Looks amazing... :)
