I have always been drawn to a balance of substance and style, both in people and things, and my relationship with vintage and the online vintage community are no exception. With this in mind, I thought I would share some pages that have pleased me due to their self-reflective attempt to consider some of the larger issues that "underpin" and complicate the unabashed aesthetic adoration many of us vintage gals have for various eras from the past. From the day I began my own vintage blog and fashion journey a few years ago, I have found it important to regularly revisit, debate, and discuss just what it means to be a 21st century woman wearing vintage clothing, and the pleasures and perils thereof. I'd love to hear your own thoughts in relation to such topics after you've browsed these other great, thought-provoking pages.
- "Why Do You Wear Vintage?" by The Glamorous Housewife
- "Intimidate at Will" by Ruby Armoire
- "Just Because I Wear Vintage..." and "The 12 Ugly Sides of Vintage" by Mary Van Note
- "Can We Be Too Nostalgic?" by Lena at Queens of Vintage
- "Vintage Fashion and Feminism" and "Why I'm Tired of the Good Old Days" by Retro Chick
Also, I could not live without regular perusals of "Worn Through: A Journal of Fashion from an Academic Perspective" and I pretty much can't believe I didn't find the blog, "A l'allure Garconniere" until recently.

Thanks for your inspiring and thought-provoking posts, Ruby Armoire and Gemma!
Glad you enjoyed, Kate x
All of these are stellar articles, all the vintage-gals should not only read them, but also print them out and frame them as a reminder.
Have a lovely day
