Highlands Fling

I don't know about you, but I am all revved up about autumn and ready to say good-bye to summer. One of the key reasons? So I can wear some of my pretty plaid 1930s fall frocks!  This morning, the weather was not quite as scorching as it has been, so my photographer (thanks, mum!) and I ventured out to find a fun place for an outfit photoshoot (I am sure you have grown as weary of the backyard setting I've been shooting against as I have!!).  Imagine my glee when I remembered the colourful wall mural in the nearby historical neighbourhood of Highlands! Imagine my absolute joy when we got there and I found my outfit matched the plaid pattern and paint colours integrated into the mural. Rah-rah-rah! Huzzah for my one and only Highlands fling!

I can't wait for crisp weather! I miss my suits. And coats. And sweaters. And fur. So... everything. You look absolutely lovely, there's nothing that screams fall more than a good plaid!

So lovely!!! I don't like cold weather at ALL, but oh how I swoon for those cold-weather textiles ;)

Amazing backdrop! I don't recall ever seeing a wall painted plaid before - too cool!!! I'll definitely have to remember to try and pose with that same wall if I'm ever out in Edmonton. Love your outfit and enthusiasm for autumn's return - I'm so eager for the cooler weather to saunter back onto the scene again, too.

Wonderful, wonderful combination, dear!
There's a reason I prefer autumn - it gives much more space for lovely display of layered garments.

This outfit looks so stylish and cosy, perfect for Autumn. The weather is starting to turn a bit Autumnal here as well, but sadly I don't have any love plaid 1930s outfits to see me through.

Love the outfit! That hat seems to work with so many different things.

No so much on the autumn boat - the next season thing is usually driven by a bunch of retail people that plant the seed of always wanting to shop for something else (that's how we end up with Christmas cards being launched in July). Total party poopers in my book. I guess the fact we never have much of a summer here in Britain as opposed to what I'm really used to makes me even more weather obsessed in that I want no little sun ray to go to waste. Granted, had I been heavily sweating for months now, I may feel differently about the next season.

I was just thinking about breaking out the plaids yesterday. I love autumn and weather in St Louis has been pretty brisk this week! *yay* You have some of the most gorgeous plaids and knits I've ever seen!

I am definitely one for hot, hot weather (born in the wrong commonwealth country!), but I absolutely agree from a fashion stand point! I can't wait to bust out my tweeds and for it to be cardigan weather. This mural is so great! I've never seen it before! I don't venture to Highlands often at all, only if I am going to Culina... clearly time to explore Edmonton more! Your outfit is flawless!!! I love that powder blue.

Wowzers this is incredible! The outfit and the backdrop look as if they were made for eachother, plus I can't tell you how gorgeous you are in your plaid with the beret and yellow shoes. A divine post!

Thanks so much for your comment on my Mermaid post, it meant a lot sweetheart :)
