Vive La France; Or A Good Old-Fashioned Outfit Post

When my friend and fellow etsy vintage seller Rhiannon, of Garb Oh Vintage, offered up an adorable sailor-themed deadstock French 1930s wrap-front dress for sale recently, I knew I had to make it mine. Thankfully, not only was it my size, but it matched perfectly with my favourite 30s red straw hat from The Swinging Seamstress.  Needless to say, I am a happy camper. Oh, and it's got, Puffed Sleeves, Marilla! :D. Apologies for some wrinkle dinkles...I need to re-iron it. In the mean-time, I wear it around the house while listing items in my shop ;).

Completely fantastic find! Oh, my goodness, do you look just like you stepped out of a (French) 1930s summer fashion plate. Gorgeous, dear Jill!

Oh, my, thank you all for the compliments! I have not felt in the vintage 30s groove as much lately, so I'm really happy to be back in the swing of deco things again :D.

Ms. Erin, the feeling is so mutual!

So cute! They certainly understood the importance of the detail back then and played on it- the few contrasting fabric accents really make this dress.

Thanks!!! I agree: the contrasting red and white striped accents really make this little dress. To think it was designed primarily as a HOUSE frock?!
