I'm sure I'm quite behind the pack on this, but I have finally started watching the series, Dancing on the Edge, a BBC produced murder mystery set in London in 1933. Imbd describes the plot as follows: "A black jazz band becomes entangled in the aristocratic world of 1930s London as they seek fame and fortune." Here are some screen caps of clothes in episode 1 of season one which caught my fancy. Stay tuned for more costume captures. I hear the clothes get even better!

sold. not sure how i haven't heard of this series, but now i have to watch! ohh, the heavenly gowns!
It is a fantastic series. My Irish boyfriend told me about it because I ran out of things to watch here in S. Korea. Enjoy!
The music is fabulous, too!!! :D
It's a good production, very much embarked on the commercial wave that floats anything vintage lately, and with a very predictable plot, but a good BBC production none the less. The costumes are definitely the highlight. I particularly liked several pieces worn by the blonde gal (can't remember the name)- stunning.
Not only were the clothes amazing but the plot was fantastic, really exciting and intriguing. Hope you enjoy it!
Fear not, my dear, you're not the only one - I haven't had the pleasure to catch a single episode yet. Soon, I hope!

I really enjoyed the series - the great music & exquisite outfits are a real highlight :)
Enjoy!

The writer, Stephen Poliakoff, is well-known here in the UK, and always manages to get a lot of big names in his dramas. He's also done a lot with a 30s/40s setting; Glorious 39 and Shooting the Past are two that especially stick in my mind.
I found this more satisfying than a lot of his work, although he does idolise posh girls rather in all his productions! Posh totty can do no wrong...
Haven't heard of it but I'm definitely interested in seeing it now!
OMG, swoon! How did I not hear about this series until now? The 30's are my favorite fashion decade! (Thank you, Poirot, for that) Guess I haven't done much research, haha - are there other series you find inspiring?
Never heard about this serie... they are always translate bad series in France but not the good ones... or really late...
Really wonderful clothes. I love the mustard skirt and pullover.
In love with the clothes! Where are you watching it as I missed the last episode and am pretty keen to catch up. Enjoy it! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk
I've been catching episodes on youtube, Second Hand Rose!!! :D
I love that this series is capturing the clothing of a few different classes of people (Sara, the brunette is not landed gentry, the singers either...they have to sing for their sparkle. Of course, yes, the wealthy Pamela has some divine ensembles...but Sarah designs or chooses them for her, as I recall Sarah mentions at one point in episode one )...Anyway, what a visual treat this is!!!
I always love to see people of color in vintage pieces!! I'm going to check if Netflix has this series!
I have never heard of this show but now I am very intrigued.
