I'm so excited! Shortly, I will be off for a little jaunt to Montreal! To kick off this exciting adventure, I thought I'd share a few photos of the adorable Fifi D'Orsay, a 1920s and 30s Hollywood film starlet who was born in Montreal, QC! I love how, in the following photos, she could look as adorable as Mae Questel, Helen Kane, or Clara Bow; as sultry and vampish as Louise Brooks; or as smouldering as a brunette Jean Harlow!! Being a 20s and 30s lover with wavy hair, I find her style quite emulate-able :). Anyway, here's a link to her bio!

Ha ha, my hair looks like Fifi's in the photo before last. And that's when it's all good.
Three cheers for homegrown Canadian flapper gals like Fifi! I've always thought she was cute, and at the same time unmistakably vixen-ish, chic and more than a little brazen (plus I love that latter in her career, she appeared on both Bewitched and Perry Mason).
I hope you have a magnificent time in Montreal!

She's adorable!
Love all of the great things she does with her hair! :) Best wished for a fun trip!
I love this time period:) I'm trying to put together a couple of vintage authentic 20's looks. The thing I'm having the most difficulty with is finding a vintage headband. You'd think there would be more of them:) It was such a fun and flirty period. I would have loved to be in a dance hall during these times. I hope you have fantastic adventures in Montreal!

She's gorgeous! The third photo is my favourite although the first one is also unbelievably cute.
I'm so jealous, I also want to go to Montréal!!!! Did I ever mentionned to you that I studied in Quebec some year ago... french canadian people are probably the most welcoming people in the world! I love Montréal, american way of life but with an european feeling...
Ah, Laurence, that's wonderful to hear. I'm so excited now!!
Joanna, yes those headbands can be very expensive. Have you ever considered using a 1910s or 20s sequined or beaded belt and refashioning it into a head band? I have one in my shop that I thought would look amazing as flapper headwear!
I agree: Fifi's hair is so versatile!
If you're hitting Montreal, may I highly recommend "The Little Shop" which is at 1002 Ogilvy and Birnam. They're open 3-4 days a week only in the afternoons, and have an unbelievable collection of antique and retro clothes, accessories, housewares and needlework. They don't have a website, but hop on their twitter for updates!
It's packed to the rafters and so worth the trip!!
I'd never heard of Fifi, but isn't she a babe! Have a marvellous time in Montreal, can't wait to see the piccies!
THANK YOU, ACE!!!!!
