Shop Synergy

Just had a moment when I noticed a connection between three 20s items in my shop.  The yellow cloche I just listed seems like it would go wonderfully with the 20s deadstock dress + jacket set, making the wearer look not unlike the lovely gal on the cover of the 1929 July McCalls magazine also in stock!

Le Sourire Snow Sirens

Researching cute cold weather garb suitable for the snow and I happened upon these two snow sirens from a few 1920s issues of Le Sourire magazine.  Suddenly, the snow is not so unsavoury :)

Grasping Delaunay-ian Design

Of course, in my dreams, I would own a Sonia Delaunay dress or coat or car!  Alas, the pecuniary reality is that such things will never be in my grasp. HOWEVER, I recently spied a very Delaunay-inspired manicure that I'm aching to try!

Going Garçonne

Sooo, a funny thing happened at the hairdresser's.  The gal cut and thinned my hair so darn much that my natural 30s waves are gone, as is much of the length (see below for hastily snapped iPhoto. Looks like I'm going garçonne for a while.  Of course, this look can work with a 20s style, but I got a swish new part time job recently and had been hoping to move my style towards a slightly more modern edge now and then, so I'm posting some pics of 21st century gals whose hair has me feeling okay with going gamine for a while.  I particularly love the integration of waves into Carey Mulligan's hair. Must attempt that...

Knox Knockabout 20s/30s Hat

Just added to my Etsy shop:  this amazing 1920s to early 1930s roll-able brown fur felt Knox hat!  Very rare and in a wearable size.  The photo at the bottom is one I took of me wearing this topper last November. I'd take a new one, but it's SO snowy outside here!
