To the Manor Born(e)
Inspired by that distinctly autumnal crispness in the air today and the recirculation of images from Ralph Lauren's Fall 2012 collection (which was said to have been at least partially inspired by Lady Mary Crawley's hunting garb in Downton Abbey), here is a little reflection of my need for tweedy "lady of the manor" ensembles this fall.

Alpine Adventures
The Canadian Rocky Mountains have always been a special place for me. As an infant, I camped in the shadow of Mt. Edith Cavell; as a teenager, I hiked and canoed to my heart's delight. As a woman, I got married to my ex husband at Emerald Lake; so many things have changed in the last year; now, I am excited to return to this special place to reconnect with myself and the beauty of the peaks and lakes of my home province! I hope to have some fun photos to share when I return! In the mean-time, some stunning 1920s hand-tinted lantern slides from the Glenbow Museum Archives!

Plaid Pretties
Maybe it's because I spent several months in LA, where it's perpetually summer most of the time, but I'm so ready to start fall-ing for autumn clothes. One of my perennial favourite things to wear in the fall is plaid. Here are some tartan treats in (or coming to) the shop:

So, to make more room in my busting closets, I'm begrudgingly parting with some amazing custom made 30s-inspired ensembles from my personal closet. I can't technically sell them in my etsy shop, as I didn't make them myself, but if you are interested in sizing, pricing, purchasing, leave me a message in the comments section OR send me a convo through my shop to arrange purchase via a Paypal transaction :)
