Housework got you down? Why not pop on a house frock? Any of these three beauties in my shop--one from the 1920s, one from the 1930s, one from the 1940s--is sure to have you whistling while you work!
Love the frocks. I have a question for you: do you ever fear wearing your vintage while you do housework because you might ruin your clothing? I am always worried about being the one to destroy something that managed to survive for so long.
great question, Glamourous Housewife! I usually only wear my nicer vintage house dresses while doing lighter housework that doesn't involve chemicals that might bleach or stain my garment...OR I'll wear a modern apron over my vintage frock (such as when baking)!
Thanks for sharing, Baroness. They really are lovely. The Glamorous Housewife, like most of us, no doubt knows how upsetting it can be to damage something vintage that is irreplaceable with so much sentimental value.
The 30's one is my favorite...I would be too scared to wear anything like this while doing housework though, it would become a lounging option instead.
Fantastic! :D I have been very lazy and I know I have to clean the house today.. but maybe doing the dishes and cleaning could really be much more fun when wearing my 50s chore dress :D Have to try it out if it could give me more motive ;)
I absolutely adore housedresses, especially those from the 40s and 50s - though there isn't a single one here I wouldn't sport with a massive smile on my face. Terrific trio of frocks, thank you for letting us know about them.
Love the red gingham. Isn't it funny how many housedresses survive, considering they would have had more and harsher wear than any other! Just goes to show they were made to endure :)

I love these house frocks, I would happily do housework just so I could wear one of these! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk
Arrrgh. I want to grab that first one and take in the sleeves by about a foot! I love the last one!

That pink one looks fabulous on you! Why would you want to let it go?!
