I don't know about you, but I'm totally loving some of the colour blocked pieces in the Marc Jacobs 2013 Resort collection. These evoke late 20s and 30s designs by the likes of Sonia Delauney and Nina Ricci. Win!

thorne garnet: TRUE, I spy some wrinkling on that purple one at left. Nothing drapes like silk chiffon (vs. broadcloth)!
Colour blocking can be tricky for petite gals to pull off (well, at least I find that to be try for myself), but I'd definitely give the brown, red and turquoise skirt in the second Marc Jacobs look a spin. I could see it looking really cute with a white eyelet blouse and perhaps a red hair flower or cute summer hat.

When I first saw the pics I felt nothing but dislike, and the crumpling mentioned above was an offending eye sore (I thought: if houses like Marc Jacobs can't be bothered to do anything about that, than who will?! I'm not all prim and proper, but I think at this level a certain standard is to be expected)
However, leaving that to one side, after perusing the whole collection, I must say that I find it does have a certain charm, to do with the interesting and exuberant colour blocking, the awkwardness of artificial shapes which is strangely endearing and the air of innocence and youth that surrounds it. Still not for me, but it has its appeal.
Rather pretty, but I much prefer the Ricci ;)

wow I love these! They're really vivacious and creative. As much as I am so married to vintage style, it's really refreshing to try and open my perspective to new concepts. I dig it!! If you think of them as separates, like a top or skirt, it would be totally wearable for work or everyday.
