Wearable Art

Some vintage is like wearable art.  A friend of mine thought the design on the front panel of this 1930s dress looked very much like an Aubrey Beardsley illustration. True! For me, the sleeves are what make the garment pretty as a picture.

Very true. Sigh, I love Aubrey Beardsley.

Gorgeousness! If I was more competent with the old sewing machine, I think I would have to experiment with a square scarf and setting it into a skirt and part bodice to create a similar effect.... perhaps one day!

How lovely! Seems like it would be nice and cool in warm weather, too. I love floaty, handkerchief tops. I think I need about a dozen more of them!

Stunning! It really does look like Beardsley and some of Klimt's lines too.
