Floor-ed

During a visit to a local historic site, I noticed remnants of a gorgeous 20s/30s deco linoleum floor pattern under my feet. Apparently, linoleum "rugs" like this were the fashionable thing.  The colours! The patterns! Swoon!

Wow! That is so nifty! I love that living room picture. Oh, to find a house that still has something like that!

Yes! I absolutely adore the idea of linoleum flooring like this. I daydream about re-doing the kitchen floor in our new house someday, if only there were options like this now!

Lovely, we found some of this in my gran's attic but it was rolled up and too brittle to unroll (we tried)
So sad:(

My Nan used to have some in the bedrooms of her house I LOVED them, and hated it when they got carpeted over.

I thoroughly love this idea, too. It makes a lot of practical sense, especially in a room that's prone to moisture and/or spills.

Wishing you a marvelous Monday & week ahead,
♥ Jessica

Yep, I'm sold on this as an amazing alternative to carpeting, too!

Wow, Miss Rayne, that's neat! I had wondered if anyone has found rolls of the stuff kicking around. I'm guessing finding a company that repro's it would be best, since, as you noted, when it's original uninstalled stuff, it is brittle and probably un-usable.

I just LOVE old color interior design illustrations. I've never seen linoleum "rugs" in person, but they would definitely be easier to clean! Ugh, I hate vacuuming.
