Crazy for Culottes

It's that time of year again, when my obsession with 30s sportswear and resort wear kicks in.  One of my favourite obsessions right now: 30s culotte dresses.  IF you can believe it, I have an original 30s culotte dress in my shop right now.  Tried it on for the first time today and it actually *just* fit, so get it while you can (i.e., before it hops into my closet!).  Hey, if it's not in your size or price point, you could always get a pattern and make something similar!

Love this look! All the cuteness of a skirt with the practicality of pants.

I have a slightly later (early Fifties) culotte pattern floating around somewhere that I've been meaning to take a crack at...lookin' at that dress is increasing my inclination to give it a try!

Ooh I love when you break out the 30s sportswear! Yay! Those culottes are great, and so perfect with those shoes.

Hey! I have that first pattern :) Your darling set makes me really want to make some. I've been iffy about the pattern, but seeing it in the print... I must have one!

Oh wow, those look darn cute on! I never made culottes because I don't think I ever saw them on an actual person but I just might now thanks to you!

Polka dotted ones sound dreamy!!

This is such a sweet, playfully wonderful vintage summer look - especially for those (like me) who rarely (if ever) wear shorter length shorts and/or skirts, even during the toastiest of months.

Wishing you a stellar Sunday,
♥ Jessica

I am often wary of culottes (they remind me of growing up in a very conservative, religious environment, which meant culottes were the only acceptable form of pants for some!), but I love these examples you've shown! Would be perfect for hiking/camping and riding my bike... Must give them another look, I think! ;)
