W.E. Costume Sneak Peeks

Okay, so some are skeptical about the actual plot, thematic depth, etc., of the upcoming movie, W.E. (2011) with Madonna at the helm, but I'm sorrrry, from a fashion-obsessed blogger's perspective, the costumes I've seen so far=chicer than chic. That zigzag patterened suit that looks like it fell from my Lucien Lelong book (though I think Simpson was dressed more by Mainbocher and Schiaparelli)??? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE........ Oh sorry, I had a fashion-induced apoplectic fit there.  For more on W.E. visit Enchanted Serenity's blog!

Oh thank you, I can't get enough of Wallis - she was amazing. I think she behaved with great grace in impossible circumstances, and always, always looked immaculate at such a super stylish time (well, if you were rich, of course!). As for the film, I don't know what to expect, but it'll be worth seeing for the costumes, cars, interiors etc. so I don't much care.

Wow! She looks just like my great grandma in the 40's! I can't describe how many not-so-good movies I've watched over and over because the fashion was amazing. There's nothing wrong with that.

I have a biography on her, I better start reading it! I like to know a bit before watching films, you know? I know I will pay little attention to more than the clothing. Eeeek!

glad to share! ;)

I've got a Wallis bio among my pile of books I'm taking on my trip. Should be interesting reading, hey, Lauren?

Brittany: your great grandmother must have been a stylish lady. As Mrs. Exeter notes, Wally was the epitome of immaculate grace and style!

Pfft, who needs plot and depth with costumes like that? (I'm all for sometimes watching terrible films - not saying this will be of course! - just for the visuals...which includes handsome men ;])

I 2nd that EEK! (and also a little concerned about anything where madonna is at the helm) those suits are freaking fabulous, the zig zag one is Very Schiaparelli!
