The Baroness Wore Brown

Sorry for all the outfit posts, but we're not hosting family this holiday, so I'm getting lots of opportunities to wear my favourite vintage dresses out and about before the weather gets really chilly.  We haven't had our official Thanksgiving dinner yet, so I thought I'd better wear this 30s dress out tonight, while it still fits....eeks.

I love the sleeves on this, very unusual! Your shoes are amazing as well. Is the plaid collar part of the dress? I love the pop of pattern against the chocolate brown.

That might be the most beautiful dress I've ever seen! It looks amazing on you, too! Is the collar attached?

thank god for corselettes, is all I have to say! THANK YOU!!!! This is a cherished dress that I have been just itching to wear out. Luckily I didn't spill on it while out for dinner. It DID end up feeling even snugger by the time the evening was out, though, so rushed home to get it off before a seam popped. 30s dresses don't always leave a lot of room for real life ;) MUST get back to my workouts after this food filled holiday!!!!

The collar is indeed attached...at least in front. In back, the collar dips down into two loose ties that have to be tied, scarf-like. The metal shards on the sleeves are dramatic and unique, but they are like little built in razors on the dress that easily create pinholes if they come in contact with the body of the frock, so I have to be really careful when wearing and storing it, so I don't tear it to shreds.
