Signs of Summer

As today's temperatures once again reached summer-like highs, the mister and I took a walk along the shore of the Great Lake Ontario, which made me feel like I was near the ocean again.  Today was our 4th wedding anniversary and I like that we spent it doing very low key things.  The walk was especially lovely, as the air was filled with hints of fresh cut grass and sand, which evoked memories of summers past and reignited my anticipation for the summer months to come.  I am longing for langorous days spent at the lake, boisterous evenings around the campfire, and hour and hours filled with nothing but cloud counting and the feeling of the wind in my hair and the sun warming my skin.  These images I've been caching all winter (from Life and Conde Nast archives of the 1930s) capture the feelings of freedom which summer elicits in me.
