La Vie A La Mode

Thanks to Swing Fashionista for mentioning the Jaloux Gallery, where you can virtually flip through issues of french fashion magazine L'Officiel de la Mode dating back to the 20s, 30s and beyond. I spent WAY too much time on there today perusing the 1933-35 issues. SWOON! Interestingly, one of the first images I encountered was of a French Baroness with her dog. Hmmm....does anyone believe in reincarnation ;) Oops, sorry Baronne, I somehow screen capped a cursor right in the middle of her. Accident (or Baroness to Baroness sabotage?) There were just so many breathtaking images I didn't know which to choose. Lots of Chanel and Schiaparelli (such as last image). My favourite has to be the woman in the second picture. One of the most beautiful faces I've ever seen. Okay, off to swoon again.

Beautiful photos. I think the second to last one is my favorite. Something about the pale outfit and those long lines...oh and maybe the hat too:)

I'm finally getting the chance to look through some of your older posts. (I adore Myrna Loy, by the way.) Thanks for giving this link! I have a copy of the Spring 1963 L'Officiel that I bought at an estate sale, but I can't afford the older copies, so I am super-excited that they're available on the internet. I know what I'm going to be up to this weekend!
