What to Wear for a Deco High Tea

Okay, now for my next activity plans: Just heard the Windsor Arms hotel is an amazing place in Toronto for high tea in a late 1920s deco setting. Have a peek and give me your thoughts: What should I wear if we go? What would a woman in the late 20s or early 30s wear to an afternoon tea in winter time? Would the knit suit be appropriate (i'd wear dark knickers this time)?

The dining room looks pretty swanky too. Maybe we'd go for dinner instead....but yet again, I ask: what to wear? HELP!

Clothes became more formal as the day wore on, so
a suit ( the knit would be fine) or a dress and coat, matching shoes bag / hat gloves, 2 colours for accessories was very popular in the 30s, eg
hat and gloves the same, shoes and bag the same, but whatever yo wear have a great time.

Wow, what a gorgeous place! I've always thought it would be so fun to go for high tea at a fancy hotel. I just love the 20s deco decor of this one, wow. I think that beautiful knit suit would be appropriate. A dress would definitely be best I think. Emily Post suggests an afternoon dress (not sure what that is though ;) ) and a hat.

Oh! You lucky duck! A friend and I toured Europe (England, Scotland, Ireland) last year and we searched for a high tea similar to what you are showing here and never found anything as fancy. Have fun, wear something roomy, and eat lots of delicious scones for me!

I sooooo wanted to have tea at Willow but we arrived in Glasgow after five on a Sunday and it was just a stop over so we could take the Stranraer ferry to Belfast. Once again- you lucked out!
