Sartorial Swooning with Miss Phryne

""A woman should dress first and foremost for her own pleasure."
--Miss Phryne Fisher

Yes, I am surely more than a bit late to the party, but better late than never in the case of the costumes I've been drooling over in The Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries series. I adore her style, not only because she seems to dote on cream and red cloches as much as I do.

Autumnal Awakenings

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” --F. Scott Fitzgerald

I cannot believe it is not yet mid-September and autumn has already almost come and gone here in my part of the world.  The changing of the seasons is bringing with it still more transformations in my life. One of them involves a movement back of sorts. After a trial partnership with The Moon River Mercantile Co., from which I learned and re-learned many things, I am looking forward to revitalizing my original vintage shop, Adeline's Attic Vintage.  Watch for lots of lovely 'new' vintage goods in the coming days, including this glorious late 20s/early 30s silk georgette gown.  Photo by Hello June Photography.

Poiret-esque Perfection

I just had to share some images I stumbled upon while fiddling around on Pinterest recently. These absolutely exquisite fashion pages appeared in a 2007 Vogue magazine spread inspired by early 20th century designer, Paul Poiret (pictured above, adjusting one of his dreamy designs on a model). I don't know about you, but I am utterly swooning!
