As the weather continues to arc towards crisp autumnal coolness in the evenings, my thoughts continue to linger over cooler weather garb and accessories. One of my favourite transitional pieces: the beret! Of course, authentic 30s ones are scarce. If you knit, they're probably a cinch to make up. If not, I spotted some adorable ones on Etsy; my favourites are the ones over at Bonnie's Knitting and another sweet one in Fiona Timantii's shop. Swoon! What's on your fall list?

I love your beret choices. Gets me in the fall mood. And one must choose the perfect hat for the season!
Lovely! I have a nice black beret but I never wear it.
I just crocheted a beret. They are very flattering.
I have a couple of berets. Perfect headwear for both cool days and bad hair days! M x
No matter what the season, I'm a sucker for coats, capes and jackets. Utter, utter madness - I think I've spent too many years in the sun and it's gone to my head. Berets are gorgeous but I find them tricky to wear. xo
I can't wear a beret but I've just remodeled a navy felt into a cloche.
I've always been a bit afraid of the beret because it seems tricky to pull off, but I love the two photos you've choosen. They both look so chic! xoxo
I love a good beret, always have, especially felt ones with bows on them. I think they can suit any style, whether it's a cute autumnal style paired with a lovely tartan coat or with a mackintosh for a wonderfully film noir feel. Berets are the perennial mainstay of my millinery wardrobe!
Wahhh these are so beautiful. I love the photos and the clothing. You really picked some great images.
xx Gee
I love berets :) (Mainly because I'm terribly impatient and they knit up so fast!) Thanks for the inspiration!
Own many berets, and been buying wool skull caps that look like tight 20's cloche hats. So cute! Next I dream of a cape. Oh and of course gloves!
I have two wool berets from France--a black one and a navy one--and I wear them all the time in cooler weather. I knit, but I've never made a beret! I want a white one like Dorothy Mackaill wears in Safe in Hell or Norma Shearer's in The Divorcée.
yay for berets!
(heehee...)
