I don't really follow mainstream fashion trends or own much in the way of contemporary designer clothing, but Prada's Spring 2011 and Resort 2011 collections are really speaking to me right now....undoubtedly due to their overt stylistical allusion to 1930s fashion (esp. late 20s/early 30s resort fashion) and to figures like Josephine Baker and Nancy Cunard. Bring on the bright colours, the bangles, and shoes to absolutely swoon for!!!

So perfect! I hope these styles trickle down to my price point - and fast!
Love the shoes, and the dresses in the bottom image. When I was in fashion school they were doing a 30's throwback thing, too- I actually found all the ads I tore out of fashion magazines the other day in a binder.
Those shoes at the top are quite dreamy. I want a pair of striped platforms like that to wear with late 30s resort clothes!! Love the checkered heels, too- what a fun design element.
I love this collection SO much... if only I could afford some of it. :) x
Lauren I was thinking how those shoes resemble those late 30s sandals you had posted images of before!!
I agree: far too pricey to buy Prada, but great inspirational images....fingers crossed we see attainable versions soon!
Gorgeous. I'm in love with the shoes.
I like the dresses, but hate the accessorizing...Anyway I like seeing a designer collection inspired by the 30's as by the time is filters down to the high street one is bound to find some affordable vintage inspired things to fill in the gaps in the wardrobe...
yeah, I think the "Nancy Cunard" bangles and hoop earrings and purses from the Spring collection would look waaaaay better with the resort wear. Love that orange floral dress on its own, though. IN the fall, I'm going to be wearing a 30s floral evening gown (w. NRA label intact) that is almost the exact silhouette as that dress--y'know, high waist seam, rumba ruffles. THAT I love!!!!
Eileen, it's the shoes in the resort collection I'm most swooning over, too!!!!!
Me too! Love this collection and those bangles are yummy!
