A Study in Sultry Satin: The Flapper Bride's Dream Dress

More photos from my collaboration with DB Photographics, with the focus in this set being on a dreamy 1920s paneled silk satin wedding gown (with swoon-worthy lace detailing at the front and back bodice necklines), which has just been added to my shop.

Edwardian Enchantment

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of orchestrating an impromptu vintage shoot for the shop with my model friend, Chantel, and talented photographer Brad Gibbons of DB Photographics.  Here is a peek at some of the magic we captured when photographing a beautiful Edwardian silk satin wedding gown I had planned to list, but an eager bride pre-bought it when I sneak peeked some of the images on my Facebook and Instagram feeds!

Sartorial Swooning with Miss Phryne

""A woman should dress first and foremost for her own pleasure."
--Miss Phryne Fisher

Yes, I am surely more than a bit late to the party, but better late than never in the case of the costumes I've been drooling over in The Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries series. I adore her style, not only because she seems to dote on cream and red cloches as much as I do.

Spring Sourcing

The spring sourcing season has begun for me, which means you can expect a little truckload of fresh 'new' vintage in the shop soon.  This also means I am open to taking on some new local Edmonton-area or Albertan consignments, so if you have vintage from the 1920s-60s that you would like to make a bit of cash on or that you would like to swap for other vintage loveliness, feel free to get in touch!

The New Spring Mode: A Dreamy Lookbook by machinedance vintage and Brooksy Hats

I've posted about the dreamy creations of Brooksy Hats before.  Well, wait until you see her collaboration with machinedance vintage.  All I can say is: SWOON!  Inspired by the kodachrome film and photography of the late 1920s and early 1930s, their Lookbook is definitely the stuff my dreams are made of!  Brava, ladies! This is the kind of thing that inspire my own vintage style and shop. Hoping to be involved in similar local projects this spring and summer!
