Poiret-esque Perfection

I just had to share some images I stumbled upon while fiddling around on Pinterest recently. These absolutely exquisite fashion pages appeared in a 2007 Vogue magazine spread inspired by early 20th century designer, Paul Poiret (pictured above, adjusting one of his dreamy designs on a model). I don't know about you, but I am utterly swooning!

It's interesting how the backdrops really finish off the concept that's being delivered. I guess there's nothing new there, but it just goes to show how import this is in fashion photography.
So much for our back garden trials :)

Ravishingly elegant images. The shades of rich, jewel toned purple and creamy white in the last image are utterly stunning!

Yes, Garofit, in the case of Poiret, anyway...I believe he designed patterns for textiles and other applications...in this case, because there are no actual Poiret patterned garments in the photos, I TOTALLY agree that the backdrops here truly round out the "Poiret"esque effect!

Wildfell Hall Vintage: YES!, In his later years, Poiret's portly silhouette was completely Hitchcock-like!!!!

These gorgeous images are some of my pinterest faves too! The Poiret photograph in particular is incredible, such a seminal designer.

I've just discovered your blog and I love it!!! I'm a huge fan of the 20's era and I absolutely adore designers such as Paul Poiret, I blogged about him and others like Lanvin or Vionnet sometime ago...
