The Little Gatsby Garden Party Get-Up that Gets Around!

Imagine my (pleasant) surprise to find that this little photo of me in a 20s dress & cloche hat (long since sold in my shop) appeared both in the wonderful 1920s issue of Hey, Doll! ezine, and at the front of an album of "Gatsby" garbed folks on People magazine's website this past week! What a trip! What a thrill! Normally, I'm most in love with the 30s, but I do so adore late 20s day wear fashions, too, and was really flattered the photo got selected for 'publication'!

Funny, Diana Vreeland said at one point that the clothes of the 30s never did anything for her; that they were so "weak" compared to the clothes of the 20s. Since she was born in the Edwardian period, the clothes of the Twenties were truly "revolutionary" by comparison; I imagine that was what she meant. For my part even though I am not into vintage, I really like the clothes of the Forties. Since people had to make do with what they had, the design of clothes was very innovative; women's suits, especially.

Sufiya H. normally, I am a total lover of the earlier to mid 1930s, but I ADORE late 20s hats and smart daywear. Anyway, vintage is FUN and I was happy to share the joy which that ensemble brought me in these other venues :D

Patricia Lynn, likewise!!! I love that photo and that dress of yours!!!

What a beautiful shot of you! Love that divine frock and cute hat, and you can tell the style is moving towards the frills and flowing chiffony fabrics of the 30s. Personally like you I prefer the 30s style for myself, I find it more womanly not being a boyish type, to me you've got a good bit of both 20s and 30s going on in that wonderful outfit. I'm not surprised it's been snapped up by the media!

That is seriously awesome! Happiest congrats on being featured in both publications. I really don't think too many of us vintage gals appear in the pages of People (though we certainly should!), and I can just imagine how thrilled you must be!

That dress and hat are both just so beautiful and you wear them so well. I would have had a hard time parting with that dress for sure.
