When I saw a particular 1920s costume in a blog post Vixen Vintage did last year related to vintage Hallowe'en, I squirreled the images away with vague plans to devise one of the costumes *this* year. When I scored what appears to be a 20s inspired costume dress on ebay this spring, my plan became clearer: I would go as "the Spirit of St. Louis" (or some version thereof). I made my "propeller" out of a bent wire coat hanger wrapped in tinfoil! Voila!

That is so cool!!!
I so badly wanted to do this but time did not permit, unfortunately. You look absolutely awesome, though! Happy halloween!

cool :D :D :D
really funny
Splendid, simply splendid!!
Looks fabulous
Love it and you made this? Very cool.
That's AWESOME! I love it :D haha. I went as a 20s person a couple years back, even sewed the 1920s one hour dress. I was invited to a party tonight but have nothing to wear and aren't into dressing up much. I was always too shy in teenage years and now, I just don't enjoy it much. I guess the fact I'm mistaken for being in costume so often normally doesn't help either!!
BRILLIANT!
How fun and creative, I love it! (And love the silver dress, wow!)
You really are a Bright Young Thing, aren't you. A lesson in effortless chic.
So awesome! A gal last year sent me pis of her inspired by the same thing, such a cute and era specific costume! You look darling :)

What an awesome outfit! I know ou're a bit of a music fan too; this post puts me in mind of a British Sea Power song called The Spirit of St Louis - worth listening too if you haven't encountered it before! x

I wish Hallowe'en wouldve been more alive in the Netherlands .. but alas.
This is absolutely brilliant! Love the silver dress alone but I especially love how you've turned it into such a lovely, quirky costume. Definite kudos!
