It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's...the Flying Flapper

When I saw a particular 1920s costume in a blog post Vixen Vintage did last year related to vintage Hallowe'en, I squirreled the images away with vague plans to devise one of the costumes *this* year.  When I scored what appears to be a 20s inspired costume dress on ebay this spring, my plan became clearer: I would go as "the Spirit of St. Louis" (or some version thereof).  I made my "propeller" out of a bent wire coat hanger wrapped in tinfoil!  Voila!

That's AWESOME! I love it :D haha. I went as a 20s person a couple years back, even sewed the 1920s one hour dress. I was invited to a party tonight but have nothing to wear and aren't into dressing up much. I was always too shy in teenage years and now, I just don't enjoy it much. I guess the fact I'm mistaken for being in costume so often normally doesn't help either!!

What an awesome outfit! I know ou're a bit of a music fan too; this post puts me in mind of a British Sea Power song called The Spirit of St Louis - worth listening too if you haven't encountered it before! x
