Closer

By special request, here is a closer look at some of the details of the 30s dress I wore in the last post (sorry, it's not for sale at this time)!

I can't tell you how much I love this dress, especially the sleeves and the belt! It looks beautiful on you, too; the colors are perfect. This might be my favorite so far (but it's so hard to choose)!!

Oh my goodness, I hope you never sell that because you would regret it so much! Amazing to think someone spent so much time and effort on that.

Oh! It's just wonderful. I would buy that dress in a heart beat! If only it was for sale, "sigh!" :)

yes, don't sell it, it looks wonderful on you, so much better than seeing like this! But the details are great, thanks for posting close ups - for me that tiny neckline flap detail is the cherry on the cake!

Thank you!! A definitely keeper! Nelly, yes, I too believe it's crocheted. As Solanah noted, the amount of time and care that must have gone into the construction of this garment almost boggles the mind. So special!!! Don't I know how lucky I am!!!

Garofit: yes, that flap is a neat little detail, isn't it. I occurs to me that you could feed some sort of accent (little scarf, etc) through it if desired? I didn't like the look created when worn un-snapped, but surely, it was a feature that was designed more than to be functional? Ah....the beauty of 30s design, non?

The original owner was a much more talented crocheter than I am! I don't know how long it would take, but my guess would be a similar knitted garment would take me at least 200 hours. What a dress!
