Whatta Peach

Also just listed in the shop: a late 20s/early 30s wedding gown in lace and crepe-back satin, and a two piece peach lace gown and bolero.  Hat to be added shortly.  Possible vintage bride & bridesmaid dress ideas??

  1. Oh how gorgeous, both of them! I've been loving things in peach tones lately. Must figure out a way to incorporate a little of that into my wardrobe this summer!

  2. How beautiful - you look wonderful! I love how the skirt joins the bodice in peach dress with a sort of huge scallop effect - so pretty :)

  5. Both pieces are fabulous. The lace looks amazing. I love your dress, too. And your headpiece and shoes!

Your yard is so green! Ours is getting burned up and brown. :-(

  6. Thanks, gals! Boy, do I wish that peach set could fit me!!! Some lucky bride to be has put this dress on reserve. SO excited to know it's going to be part of a special vintage lover's wedding!!

Lauren: yeah, this part of Canada I live in is called the Pineapple bowl. We get really hot & humid weather in the summer, which makes everything (including weeds and rhubarb) grow to almost jurassic park sizes sometimes!! My garden is thriving on this weather, though: It's scorching hot by day and then really rainy at night so I don't have to do any watering! hehe!
Embarrassing truth: the head piece is a crocheted runner/oblong doily!! LOL!

  7. Miss M: wow, that's such a compliment. I do have a secret I can't reveal yet related to something I've been asked to be part of...hope to know for sure later this year. til then, can't say a word :)

Mrs. Exeter: Ooh, that is what I LOVE about dresses from this era....the gorgeous pointed or scalloped seaming (apparently called inset goring?). Just dreamy!!

Tash, Sara: I agree: peach is delightful! Some colors in this family make me look sickly and sallow but others add just the right touch of warmth to the wearer's look. Yum!

  10. That is stunning. Love the pale warm hue of the peach tone - so much nicer than shocking pinks!
