Sherwood Like the Rain to Stop!

Finally, after DAYS of rainy weather, I was able to get outside for a while.  Thought I'd do a little outfit post to show this 1930s feathered corduroy "robin hood" alpine/tyrolean hat which I have listed in the shop, as it is that frustrating smidge too small for my head.  Since trying it on with this 30s inspired nudeedudee number I had custom made last year, I am now even more acutely aware of how darn cute it is!! Suddenly, I'm feeling inspired to form a merry band and head for Sherwood Forest.  In the mean-time, the derelict treehouse and forest of weeds in the backyard will have to suffice. Le sigh! :)

The hat is fantastic and is this your treehouse? If so I am jealous! x

thank you kindly! Ms. Kim did such a fantastic job of making a 30s sears image come to life. A quick steam and it's fresh and ready to play in (love it so much).

Speaking of playtime, yes, that treehouse IS in my backyard. It came with the house. Hoping to fix it up into my own personal "Krazy Kat Club" gin joint. First things first: MUST weed garden!! arghhh...I'd much rather play with my hats and vintage!

iliveinmylab: sending clouds and clouds filled with rain your way. Take as much of it as you can!!!

Oh that is such an awesome hat! Maybe it's because I lived in Germany for so long, but the traditional German tracht has a special place in my heart

Haha, I love your post title... I'm feeling the same way right now! Though unfortunately I don't have an adorable cap and treehouse to brighten things up! Love the dress, of course :D

What a shame it doesn't fit right, it is gorgeous on you. I love the idea of your Krazy Kat gin club. If I ever come to Canada may I come and play? x

Miss Tami Lee: isn't it interesting how bavarians styles influenced 30s fashion and accessories? This beauty, though definitely from the 30s, is totally inspired by the "tracht" (thanks for the proper German word!).

Dakota, LandGirl, Penny Dreadful: thank you!! Yes, Penny, you and everyone would be welcome to hangout at the clubhouse! hehe!

So cute! But I won't tell you it's too wonderful since you'll be sad to see it go as it doesn't fit. ;)

Rain, rain, go away! I am so with you. It's been clear the last few days when of course I've been at work, and planning to rain over the weekend (again).

Love your chapeau! I have a weakness for tyrol-inspired fashions.
