In the Navy Once Again

Today was so warm and summer-like that I decided it was time to debut the amazing halter playsuit+ skirt dress that I had the amazing Kim of Nudeedudee make me over the winter.  I initially had plans to wear it on a cruise vacation that was slated for later this month. Alas, for various reasons, the cruise is a "no go," but that's okay.  This amazing outfit is going to get TONS of mileage this summer. I can see myself wearing it for everything from golfing to frolicking at the beach to camping/lounging at the cabin this summer.  Wahooooo!

  1. OH! I love it sooooo much! AMAZING! Is it made from both of those patterns? Or were those just inspiration?

  10. thank you thank you thank you! I've been waiting SO long to wear the playsuit (I've been wearing the skirt ALL the time).

Debi: Kim used bits from various patterns, I believe. The pattern images shown were inspirational.

Darling Home-maker: Thanks! The back looks just like the teeny little image at right, only it has a button fastener at the back neck.

THANK YOU Miss KIM of Nudeedudee! You rock!

  13. Now. This is MY sort of play suit! Not the top half - im not a fan of halter necks on myself (looks a treat on you though!) - but I love the length of the bottom half!! :)

  14. Oh how clever! It is really gorgeous. Does the belt detach from teh skirt so you can use on either outfit? The white lacing at teh top really makes it xx

  15. thanks again, ladies! LandGirl: I'm a sucker for 30s halter tops and dresses. I was happy with the length of the shorts, though in retrospect, I almost wish I had gone with culotte length (like Lauren's sporty pattern), as I HATE my knees. It's a thing with me. Ah well...

Penny Dreadful: thanks! The belt is indeed separate. I should have worn it with the playsuit. Oops! Must remember to transfer it over when I wear it next!

  16. That's so beautiful and you look beautiful in it :) The cut is so flattering, I love playsuits but I hate the modern kind which run so short, maybe making one of these is the way forward! Lucky you to have one already!

  18. Oh, this is just adorable! I love the top/neckline especially. This makes me yearn even more for a playsuit to deal with uncomfortable heat this summer while still looking cute!
