Garden Girls

I've been going on about summer/beach/resort wear (and will continue to do so shortly), but I was just looking at some gorgeous 1920s colored photos which Glamour Daze found in the National Geographic archives and am reminded of the beauty of spring blooms that should be coming in the next couple of months.  While perusing these images of vintage "garden girls," I suddenly remembered that last spring, I took a number of photos of myself traipsing around in my vintage 20s and 30s frocks (for my shop, ultimately), amidst the cherry blossoms and lilacs and tulips; for a lark, thought I'd repost some of those images alongside some of the vintage ones Glamour Daze dug up.  All the frocks I'm wearing in the snaps below have gone on to other happy homes. I wonder what they're doing now? hehe.

Those vintage photos are sooooo lovely!!! The ones of you fit in so well. I often wonder the same thing when I pass along vintage to a new home. Maybe I am just too attached to my clothes... :)

What great photos - you look so pretty in pink, I hope the cherry blossom comes out soon and you've got another pink frock to pose in :)

Love the lady in yellow with the droopy hat - the garden behind her is so sweeet too.

This makes me wish spring were here already! It never lasts as long as it ought to--feels like we go straight from winter to summer!

What fabulous vintage photos - I feel like I've stepped into the gardens at Scoatney with Cassandra and Rose.

The second vintage picture, where they are picking from a field of blue flowers, is particularly interesting. I always thought the long necklaces were for evening wear. Now I know they were used for daytime too.

Adorable! (The vintage photos and you)

I love the one of the girl in the yellow dress - such a flattering frock for the 20s!

Only just seeing these now. They're gorgeous. Maybe someone will dig these up in 80 years time and marvel over them like we did with the Cliff adams pics.Your fashion styles are always a joy to see.
