Summer Vacation, Part Three

Inspired by the 1930s obsession with backs, a couple more cottage pics...
Sittin' on the dock of the bay...doing some catch and release fishing
I had to try out my 1930s Jantzen wool bathing suit.  Verdict: there is NO support up top and it is a little too short in the torso for me, so it's great for vintage photos, but not for active swimming.  The wool is also a little scratchy, but it didn't stretch out of shape at all!

Love these snapshots! Interesting to know about the vintage suit too--I've always wondered how it would be to wear a wool swimsuit to swim in! ;)

You have a 30's Jantzen bathing suit...how fun!

I've always wondered about those scratchy wet wool suits, and how the women back then could bear to wear them for very long. I suppose it just takes a little getting used to.

I am enjoying these vacation photos SO much! You certainly have a good eye for setting up a photo and posing; you make you and the clothing look fabulous, while capturing the mood perfectly. I feel as though I'm right there with you!

Thanks for the virtual vacation!

Super cute photos! Very 30s :) As for the swimmy suit-- I'm sorry it didn't fit quite right but your back looks super cute! Enjoy your vacation!

Great photos! I love vintage swimsuits, but the wool ones do look very itchy, good for just posing around the pool though!

Love the first photo. I can't imagine wearing a wool bathing suit here in Texas---it's seems wrong on so many levels. But it does look nice!
