(Carved) Celluloid Dreams

Lately, I'm really drawn to the intricate beauty of vintage carved celluloid bracelets.  They come in a number of colors, but I love the white or off white ones best (although that last one with touches of color is breathtaking as well).  What are your favourite vintage accessories?

They're so lovely! I don't tend to wear much jewellery, but I couldn't live without earrings. My favourites are big studs, especially flowers.

Ooh, those are gorgeous! I actually don't wear much jewelery. If I wear any it's usually just a simple necklace with a small pendant or something. :)

These are beautiful! I especially love the last one. I don't wear many bracelets, but I usually wear a ring every day.

They are so lovely! They look so fragile though, I'm worried I would only end up breaking them.
I have a necklace which has a collection of little things given to me or collected from around the world. It has a couple of vintage charms on, a key and a tiny piece of metal from an elephant's headpiece amongst other things

Snap! I have been keeping my eyes open for celuloid as well. I am particularly taken with the rich yellow carved celuloid brooches. The bracelets in your post are stunning. :-)

Oh, I love these! I have one, but it's not vintage, unfortunately. I love the creamy color. Thanks so much for your kind words on my post. I think you are absolutely right about this movement in the corporate world, too - and it's not a change for the better in my book.

Celia Rose: I don't wear much jewelry either, but am starting to push myself to wear earrings and bangles a bit more often...

Simple necklaces and rings are always classic, aren't they, Kir and Pixie Drive in? Most days I only have my wedding rings on.

As for their fragility, I don't own one myself, so am not sure just how fragile they are, Ellen, but I imagine, being vintage, they should be worn and stored with care!

Carys: aww, thanks so much! I'm thrilled you find my posts of interest!

Shallow Mallow: I've seen a couple of the brooches and they, too, are fantastic. Also lovely: EARRINGS

Bella: Even a repro. of such lovelies would be nice! Thanks for humouring my rant ;)

Miss M: Aren't the dreamiest?

sorry that last one should say, "aren't they the dreamiest?" ;)
