And....They're Offff....
I've only been to the horse races once before in my life, so when we saw that a big harness racing event was on at the track just down the road this past weekend, we decided to check it out. Now, I'm not at all suggesting I endorse the mis-use of animals in this sort of way, but curiousity simply got the better of me. Verdict: it was fun for about five minutes, but from a fashion perspective, let's just say that this was no Ascot opening day (though I did shout out "Come on Dover!" in my best Cockney ;) I DID see one dapper looking chap in pinstriped pants, wing tipped shoes, fedora, the works, but he was grumpy and so we had to sneak a photo of his ensemble whilst he was pacing away. Oh well, I had fun wearing my nudeedudee 30s repro. dress out and about!
You look fabulous! Love the dress and the shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteHorses racing are so exiting. But for fashion may be "grand prix" in Paris nowodays or a time machine for the 30's will be more appropriated ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look great and escape from the time machine ;)
What a cute outfit! Sorry it was such a bummer fashion wise for everybody else. Opening weekend for the season is usually the best time to see people dressed up. I've not seen a lot of vintage fashion at the races (I used to live in Kentucky so we went all the time) but I have seen many a fabulous hat over the years!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic. I've always wanted to go to the races.
ReplyDeleteyou look lovely! x
ReplyDeleteFun! I've always wanted to go to the races! You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteHehe...thanks. I definitely need to get a time machine or head to the REAL Ascot or Derby courses on opening day for at least a peek at some stellar hats, as noted by Stephanie Lynn.
ReplyDeleteMy verdict: too many chain smokers out by the track, but we did get a thrill when my husband's horse won (we only bet $2). haha
I love going to the races, I reeeaaally want to go to Ascot next year, I have the perfect hat for it! You look lovely as usual my dear. x
