1920s Cocoa Brown Coco Jacket: A Baronial Lament

Woe is me...my second amazing find at the antique fair last weekend was a 1920s rich brown jersey jacket.  I was in a mad dash to snag as much vintage as possible, so I didn't try it on. Sadly, it just does not quite fit, so I begrudgingly put it in the shop.  Still, I couldn't resist slipping it on for one little photo.  This piece evokes early Coco Chanel-type sportswear.  So so beautiful.  I envy the vintage lover who can fit this!!! As you may have noticed, I'm a bit obsessed with collages right now ;)

yep, took a second look in your shop, it is pretty fantastic and rather quite painful, since I think it might also fit! btw, might be a good idea to add sleeve measurement too. i wish I could afford it...god i just love it!

Wow, beautiful!!! I just went on etsy to look at it, it's amazing!! I'm meant to be saving up for my holiday, but I'd have bought it if it were my measurements!

Ooh, sorry to be such a temptress (and sorry didn't add sleeve measurements to listing before). Alas, she is sold and will be winging her way to a fabulous flapper today!!

Debi, isn't it eery how that illustration and image both seem like twins of this piece? I LOVE when I can find images that help pinpoint the date of an item!!

I love it too, looks right out of a fashion plate. Too tragic that it does not fit!

Hehe, OHHHH, Yeah, MarieBayArea, I definitely have watched "Coco Avant Chanel" I made sure to get a copy as soon as it came out on DVD. Chanel, j'adore!

C'est tragique, indeed! ;(

GORGEOUS!

The frustrating part about having small shoulders/bones and much curvier hips and bust = the ability to get some of these narrow flapper items on over my shoulders, but NOT the ability to actually have them FIT me completely in the bust and hips. This photos was therefore a trick of the eye. I could slip it on but not do it up. SIGHS! ;)

Dreamstress, you don't wear brown? Oh, it's one of my absolute favourite colors. But then, I look a fright in most pastels (I must be an "autumn").

Thank you, Yesterday Girl and Stefanie Valentine! I loved it but now have let it go...
