As promised, here are a couple of pics of the 30s halter I sewed using part of
the aforementioned Wearing History pattern for a late 30s halter and trouser beach/leisure outfit. In the photos below, the trousers were made by the WONDERFUL
nudeedudee, but some time soon I hope to be adept enough at sewing to make my own slacks using the rest of the halter suit pattern! Anywhoo, I fashioned the halter (which I've dubbed the Harlow) out of a white and pink rose-print vintage feedsack material. It was really only a trial piece. I plan on making a couple of other halters in brighter colors and patterns that will work for days at the beach, camping, etc.
You look like you´re ready for summer ! ;)

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, kind thanks! it was such a simple little top to make. I feel a bit "exposed" in the back, but I suppose it that was the look!
ReplyDeleteLouise, I am utterly honored to be mentioned in the same sentence as the Deco Goddess, Jean Harlow!
Isabel, I am pale as a sheet, too, but maybe with a bit of sun in a bottle, I'll be able to go around feeling a little more bronzed this summer!
Absolutely gorgeous! I think this outfit epitomizes the spirit of fun, charming warm weather dressing and also showcases a vintage look that is positive gorgeous on you!
