Bang Bang!

If you follow my instagram feed, you probably noticed I recently decided to try out some 20s vamp bangs. Not sure I love them (they were more heart shaped when I first did it, but still not as distinctly curved as I wanted); still, I don't regret the lark. For a moment, I felt like Margaret Livingston or Lia de Putti. Back to the 30s waves shortly, though!

Poiret-esque Perfection

I just had to share some images I stumbled upon while fiddling around on Pinterest recently. These absolutely exquisite fashion pages appeared in a 2007 Vogue magazine spread inspired by early 20th century designer, Paul Poiret (pictured above, adjusting one of his dreamy designs on a model). I don't know about you, but I am utterly swooning!

Shop Stunners

I've been every so lucky lately to have such obliging and gorgeous friends.....If you haven't seen my shop lately, you may not have noticed the latest round of 'photoshoot'-ing I've been doing. Big love to Chantel, Erin, and Nicole. I have EVER so much more to learn about photography, but I've been having so much fun experimenting.

Reynolds Vintage Road Trip

Thanks to Laurie of Retro Reporter for taking Erin and I on the road to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum for the Vintage Car Show last weekend! What a blast!

Took my 'new' vintage 1930s green sweater out for a spin. I think it's a tad too short for me, though, so I'm hand washing it and then shall be selling it on.

My kinda 'ride'!

Blue skies and vintage of all kinds, as far as the eye can see.
This 1930s hood ornament was inspired by the famous avant garde dancer, Isadora Duncan, who died tragically in the late 20s when a long scarf she was wearing caught on the back wheel spokes of the car she was driving in!
Reflections from behind the wheel
Victory lap inside the museum!
Hot date in the Pink Lady-mobile
Perfect capper to the day: found a replacement pair of 1930s sunnies at Imagine Vintage Wear. Win!

Flipping My Lid(s)

Fresh from my talented artist friend Arnaud Beauville, and soon destined for my etsy shop, I now present a bevy of 1920s deadstock woven straw cloche hats!!! Most of them are quite tiny, probably only wearable by youths or children, but two of them, including the red one on the hat form and the pink one on my head, do fit around a 22" circ. head.  Get 'em while they're HOT!
