Hullo, dear bloggers! I want to thank you all for your kind words of support as I start a new chapter in my life. Without going into detail, just know that your comments have been greatly appreciated. Now then, I'm so looking forward to seeing W. E., especially after having seen the Vanity Fair costume shoot and this trailer.
Oh, so glad to see that you're back! I was thinking about you today. I styled a 1930's photo shoot, did hair, makeup and wardrobe. You know, I'm more of a 40's girl so all along I thought "What would the baroness do?" :P
ReplyDeleteMadonna looks amazing!! Can't wait to see this. Hugs to you, sweets! x
Ooohh, I can't wait till this is in theatres. I have heard the costumes alone are too die for!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you my friend, please know you are in my thoughts!
I am positive whatever new road your heart has chosen will be paved with success!!
xoxo
I was looking forward to WE so much after the vanity fair shoot, but I have to say... the script sounds quite tacky and this ad hasn't swayed me... I think I'll have to see it only for the costumes and maybe to laugh at the horrible acting! xox
ReplyDeleteThinking of you! Chin up, stiff upper lip an' all that x
ReplyDeleteMissed your posts!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you, I hope you are well, missing you dearly.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you around! I hope the changes that you're going through are for the good, and if they aren't so hot, that they lead to good things for you!
ReplyDeleteThe movie looks quite interesting, I hadn't heard of it!
Whatever is going on in your life I hope you stay healthy and happy. Transitions are rarely comfortable, I'm going through one myself, so here's thinking of you, Madam.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to W.E., as well, even if it's only for the costumes and vintage settings. Madonna is someone who I'm very ambivalent about today. I loved her around the time of Erotic and Bedtime Stories and not just because of her love of vintage/fetish inspired lingerie, which probably started me off. But more recently, musically, she's not working for me that much at all. She's been in more films than I gave her credit for so she should know what she's doing, by now so I doubt it'll be the dud Swept Away was. I live in hope and quiet anticipation. Stay well.
I'm not usually a fan of biopics but must watch this just for the costumes x
ReplyDeleteNot sure what you're up to, but I hope you're well and we'll be seeing you around here. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the movie, I'm not really tempted after seeing the clip. Too melodramatic to my taste. Anyhoo, I'm already irritated by the fact that part of the music used in that clip comes straight from the soundtrack of Amelie. That's unforgivable.
But do let us know what you think after seeing it. I am curious.
Interesting to hear your thoughts, everyone! I personally want to see Madge's take on this controversial couple. The "melodrama" detected may be related to the fact that Madonna is trying to provide a more (and maybe overly?) sympathetic and certainly more romantic view of Wallis and Edward's relationship? The weaving in of the other narrative seems a unique twist and gets us thinking about why we sometimes get caught up in the past, why some of us become fascinated by historical figures, etc. Anyway, I'm guessing: once I've seen the flick, I'll report back! Point is: I'd rather see this than much other pap in the box offices right now! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope everything is OK with you! I've been missing your blog posts and thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteIt must be the week for Wallis. My poll of the week is about her, but so far she isn't doing well!
I'm so happy to hear you again!!! This video is so funny, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day,
Benedetta
