May Day! May Day!
Okay, I'm clearly in love with cheesy, "punny" post titles. Point is, I'm so happy it's May! The grass is finally getting green, the sun has been peeping out now and then; hurrah!! Thanks to the saving grace of the sun, I'm suddenly feeling energized to: garden (and slay the gigantic weeds already cropping up in the yard), fix up the old tree house in the backyard (needs a new ladder, for sure), get our backyard patio "lounging" situation "just so"; most importantly, I feel like it's actually time to be able to start wearing something other than rain jackets and boots!! Since I've been blogging about 30s chenille clothing, I decided to try to work a little 30s chenille jacket I bought earlier this year into my spring wardrobe. It may be a bed or beach jacket, but I'm planning to make it more versatile by wearing it over spring dresses, like this 30s "sailor" frock that I am so in love with it's sort of ridiculous.
your wardrobe is amazing darling
ReplyDeletea stunner!
ReplyDeleteYay i'm so pleased it's May too! I will be joining you in my weed culling on my next day off, my poor gargen needs some TLC. Your outfit is gorgeous and that jacket is such a lovely shade of blue, perfect for a May day. :) x
ReplyDeleteI can see why you are in love with that dress. It's stunning!!
ReplyDeletevery elegant
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous! That dress is drop dead gorgeous! I love it with the chenille jacket!
ReplyDeletethank you!!! i like that the dress is cotton and has a sailor-y collar. The jacket is definitely a blue I love but haven't worn much of. Will definitely wear both a lot...not while I'm digging for victory, though :)
ReplyDeleteMiss M: clearly, I have a problem. I clothe, therefore I am :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I can definitely see why you like it so much! It is so pretty! I'm such a sucker for nautical looks! The shoes you are wearing match the dress perfectly! <3

Lovely! I especially like the way the cardigan looks! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my word! You look gorgeous, no questions asked...what a beautiful chenille jacket and dress.
ReplyDeletexo,

goodness, me, thank you all. You are so so kind.
ReplyDeleteWhat IS it about nautical fashion that makes us never fall out of love with it, hey? Just my favourite!
This outfit is breath taking, I am green eyed with envy at your stunning collection of clothing! The jacket is amazing
ReplyDeleteLovely! And I'd really like to see the back of this dress. Is it a traditional middy collar or is it only sailor-y from the front?
ReplyDeleteI can see why you'd be in love with that dress-- it's so great!! 1930s daywear + sailor detailing... oh my, such a sweet combination!! That chenille bed/beach jacket is quite darling too. And heck, while I'm at it, I do love those perfect white shoes too!
ReplyDeletethanks, Dakota, Hannah, Desiree! I do love these shoes, so am excited that the season for lighter coloured footwear is *almost* here. If you can believe it, I got these shoes about 1 1/2 years ago, for $15.00, on ebay of all places (nobody else bid on them!). Desiree, there is no back to the front collar/tie detail, so only the front has the "middy" sailor look.
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable...love your outfits and happy May Day to you too. xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteHi my fellow lover of puns (my husband lovingly calls me his "punny girl"), thank you for sharing your splendidly pretty ensemble with us.
ReplyDeleteI adore the neckline, flutter sleeves, and enchantingly, serenely pale sky blue hue of that dress. To say you look stunning would be a massive understatement, my immensely fashionable dear!
Oodles of hugs & cheerful Wednesday wishes,
Jessica from Chronically Vintage
Keep the puns coming. I love 'em (just ask my long-suffering husband). The jabot (and sleeves! and belt!) makes your dress so darn cute and I love the ridged sleeves on your chenille jacket!
ReplyDeletehow lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteOh darling, you are so very classic. I love the chenille wear, especially this little jacket. You're so inspiring with your knowledge of your garments.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
