Mildred Pierce
I'm baaaaack!!! Can't wait to catch on everyone's blogs and get back into my own shop n' blog groove. In the mean-time, here's a short post relating to the upcoming HBO remake of Mildred Pierce. Last year, I posted some drool-worthy costume snaps and thought I would share a few more I dug up online to tide us over until the show airs beginning on March 27, 2011.

I think what I'm loving the most about Kate's costumes is that they are realistic. Not so much Hollywood glam as what a woman from that period could have believably worn. I adore her second outfit especially!

I still haven't read the book--need to get to it. We don't have HBO, though, so I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD. I've loved Kate Winslet since Sense & Sensibility.
I can't wait to see this, saw the original once. Love that first dress so!

I want that orange hat in the first picture! I can't wait to see this; I hope it's as good as the original, but even if it isn't, it looks like the costumes will more than make up for it!
I am sooo excited for this, too. I adore Kate Winslet and feel sure she'll do a fantastic job (though I know she will make the role her own--no one should try to copy the way Joan Crawford played Mildred). Ahhhh, the costumessssss!!!!

It's FINALLY coming out! Waiting for this has driven me nuts, but I read the book in the meantime ^_~
