Beauxbaton Blue Belles

Random nerdy Sunday post.  Every year around this time, we watch the whole series of Harry Potter movies over again.  This year, of course, the release of the second-to-last film is particular incentive to rewatch.  This round, while watching The Goblet of Fire, I was particularly struck by how very 1930s the uniforms worn by Fleur Delacour and the students at Beauxbatons Academy are!  The capelet with pointed collars, the little elfin hat...the two-tone laceup spectator style shoes...how did I miss this?  I think I've got my Hallowe'en costume for next year sorted!

I've always LOVED the 30's look of these costumes... I especially love the double collars. My friends and I have bit of a long-satin-collar obsession, and this is a great twist on it.

These are some of my favorite costumes in the series! I agree they do like they come straight out of a '30s musical. By the way, I took a break from the blogosphere, but am now starting a new blog. I hope you stop by!
