Baby, It's Cold Outside

Brrr...it's so cold outside, I think it's going to snow!  I'd better stop wearing these peep toes shoes out without galouches!  More crucially, I'd better get all the fallen leaves raked up, and fast!  Well, maybe on Sunday...we're heading out for a little jaunt to the Niagara region to dine with friends and maybe stay over for a night.  So excited to wear the second 30s coat I mentioned in my previous post (bought from Top Tottie Vintage).  I'm "coat-ed" in rare fortune, indeed.  Have a great weekend!!!

What a gorgeous coat, I love the front placket! You know it was only a matter of time before 'the real weather of the True White North' came back to us for a long visit!
Enjoy Niagara this weekend, we are headed that way as well on Saturday!

I do love a bit (by a bit, I mean A LOT) of plaid in the autumn.

What a divine coat. Some coats of the period can look rather shapeless(maybe its the person inside them), but you look lovely in this. I love how the collar buttons up to keep the cold out. Another brilliant find!

Wowzers. What a stunning addition to your already amazing collection. And as for the shoes? What a little bit of frostbite in the name of vintage love?

What a fantastic coat. And I agree one of the things I dislike about colder weather is having to put away my peeptoe shoes. First time on your blog! I enjoyed having a look around and making myself comfortable.

Sorry for the slow reply to all your lovely and generous comments!! Thank you, darlings! Nothing makes one able to weather the cold fronts like a warm and beautiful coat (the plaid and the asymmetrical placket bowled me over as well!). ! I was really lucky that Tottie was parting with this beauty!

Lily Lemontree: I fear I had winter weather denial! If it's going to get cold, let's hope we actually get lots of beautiful light fluffy snow for a white Christmas!

Goodness-that coat is so beautiful! I love the closure especially; 30s coats had some of the most lovely asymmetrical closures.

Wherever in Canada you are... I want to be near. You get the best vintage. And... I'm closely related to polar bears. I love the cold. Lucky, lucky girl.

Thanks, Casey! I agree: 30s design details make me weak in the knees!

Darlene: I live in Southern Ontario, so we get snow, but we probably don't get the blizzard like weather of the true North. My hometown of Edmonton is further north and does get to -30C sometimes. Brrr...I'll trade that deep freeze for more temperate climes any day! ;)
