AHOY!! part two

Yesterday, the weather was really warm, so I decided to catch some sun in the garden, before heading to my newly created little hammock grotto.  I got the hammock for $5.00 at a local church rummage sale last weekend, along with a book about home decoration from 1930 for FREE (we arrived around the time they were charging $1 admission to the sale and letting people have whatever they could stuff into a single bag for the admission price!! Oh, if only there had been some vintage clothing there!).  Bring on the iced tea and Poirot, 'cause this Baroness is DEFINITELY more in the mood for leisure these days. To this end, I wore my other cotton 1930s resort dress that I blogged about last winter.  I actually think it too is made of flour sack (it has that same calico feel as the sailor dress which is identical to the flour sacks-turned-tea towels my grandmother always dried her dishes with). I LOVE this dress and plan to live in it most warm days, but the back is so low cut, it can't be worn with a brassiere, so I can't help but feel in need of a little uplift.  At the same time, I want to feel comfortable.  Maybe I'll have to come with something if I wear it outside the yard.  At home, however, AHOY!

  1. What a WONDERFUL print! And a lovely dress. Re the low cut back, have you tried a longline bra? You can get them cut low in the back for just these sort of dresses.
